R&D Lab Technician
We are seeking a Technician with electronics development experience in a R&D environment where prototypes are created rapidly to determine which ones advance to production. The role involves assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of prototype electronics and electromechanical assemblies, primarily in a lab setting.
Essential Skills
BS or Associates degree.
3-10 years of experience in electronics or electromechanical
Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Hands-on experience, ideally with R&D/NPD.
PCBA soldering skills, both through hole and surface mount.
Responsibilities
Assemble and test prototype electronics and electromechanical assemblies.
Perform PCBA soldering, including through hole and surface mount techniques.
Conduct wiring and wire harness assembly.
Read and interpret schematics, bill of materials, and assembly instructions.
Manage and maintain an electronics lab, providing occasional support in an R&D test lab.
Support internal and external product development projects.
Troubleshoot PCB's to component level and perform testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
LabView programming and data acquisition experience.
Data analysis capabilities.
Troubleshooting skills at the component level.
Work Environment
The role is primarily lab-based but may require occasional work on the production floor. The team consists of mechanical, software, and hardware engineers, with a need for an electrical specialist.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale Heights, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
