Private Chef – Full-Time; Manhattan, NYC with travel to additional properties within 1.5H drive

A private household in downtown Manhattan is seeking an experienced and highly professional Private Chef to provide exceptional culinary services at the family's residences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working in highly rated Fine Dining restaurants and Private Residences. They will bring strong culinary credentials, discretion, and the ability to create refined meals tailored to the Principals preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute seasonal, customized menus that reflect the family’s tastes, preferences, dietary needs, and nutritional goals
• Prepare high-quality, fresh meals for the family on a regular basis; typically lunch and dinner, with occasional breakfasts and additional meals as requested
• Plan and execute menus for intimate dinners, holiday meals, family gatherings, and occasional events, including coordination with household staff or outside vendors as needed
• Ensure the kitchen is consistently stocked and manage all grocery sourcing and inventory
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen (with the help of cleaning staff)
• Anticipate the needs of the Principals; i. e. preparing a protein shake or healthy lunch post-workout, preparing lunch to-go for office days, preparing meals for everyone when kids are in the home
• Provide a high level of flexibility; including availability for evenings, weekends, and travel to nearby New York State properties
• Uphold strict confidentiality and maintain the highest standards of service

Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience across top tier fine dining restaurants and private households
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Must be available to work partially on ~20 weekends (non-negotiable, not a typical Mon-Fri schedule)
• Culinary degree and valid driver’s license are required

This is a full-time, long-term position offering a competitive salary and benefits. The ideal candidate will be dependable and deeply committed to providing consistently exceptional service within a small private household. The Principals will be away more than 1/3rd of the year and like to entertain at their homes on certain weekends, so candidate has to offer schedule flexibility. We look forward to hearing from you.
