The Physical Education (PE) Teacher at St. Theodore Catholic Church is responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive, faith-centered physical education program that promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong healthy habits. The teacher creates a positive, structured, and developmentally appropriate learning environment while integrating Catholic values into daily instruction. This position supports the physical, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of all students and contributes actively to the mission and life of the school community.
Plan and teach age-appropriate physical education lessons focused on fitness, skill development, and cooperative play.
Promote teamwork, respect, safety, and good sportsmanship.
Teach and model proper techniques for sports, movement skills, and physical activities.
Maintain and safely manage equipment and facilities.
Supervise students during physical activities and transitions.
Assess student participation, effort, and skill growth.
Communicate with students, parents, and staff as needed.
Participate in school events and activities as a full-time faculty member.
Model and support Catholic values in daily interactions.
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
Teaching credential or PE certification preferred.
Experience working with children in a school or coaching setting.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Understanding of age-appropriate physical activities and child development.
Commitment to student safety and supervision.
Ability to support the mission and values of a Catholic school.
