**Responsibilities** **Mercy Hospital of Folsom** a member of Dignity Health is currently looking for a **_Pharmacy Tech_** to join their hospital staff. The Pharmacy Tech is responsible for technical clerical and transportation duties for the department and is involved with the preparation distribution and delivery of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The technician must demonstrate competency in patient care for neonate pediatric adult and geriatric patients. The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy Hospital of Folsom and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health. **Qualifications** **Minimum Required** + One year of acute care hospital pharmacy practice experience or a 6 week pharmacy technician externship at the hiring facility. + Demonstrated knowledge of the legal restrictions on the activities of non-licensed personnel in a hospital pharmacy medical abbreviations pharmaceutical terminology and calculations and generic/trade names of medications. + Experience in the preparation of intravenous admixtures and antineoplastic/chemotherapeutic/hazardous medications. + Registration with the California State Board of Pharmacy as a registered technician; PHARMTECH:CA **Preferred** + Experience working in a USP 797 clean room is preferable + Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferable + Completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician program is preferable **Overview** Dignity Health @ Mercy Hospital of Folsom is the community hospital serving the Sierra foothills communities of Folsom El Dorado Hills Granite Bay Cameron Park Shingle Springs and Rescue.
