**About the role** As a Data Center Technician, you will make an impact by ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and fixing of data center infrastructure. You will be a valued member of the team and work closely with the Digital Support Services team. **In this role, you will:** + Install and configure hardware components such as servers, routers, and switches + Work on the installation and upgrade of IOS, OS, ESXi + Help to replicate or build configurations based on customer requirement. + Install and network of Managed Power Distribution Unites mPDUs + Cable management, including running, organizing, topology clean-up, and labelling network cables + Solving and Break Fix Tasks + Conduct basic diagnostics to identify hardware issues. + Network debugging, tracking layer 1 to 3 issues. + Router, Switch, installation and Upgrade experience. + Rack & Stack, PDU installation experience. **Work model:** At Cognizant, we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible, and we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs. Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in San Jose, CA. Rest assured; we will always be clear about role expectations. **What you need to have to be considered** Datacenter Hands and Feet Support Engineer - Well versed in below activities + Equipment Moves, Installation and Setup + Problem Solving and Issue Resolution + Decommissioning and Disposal + Maintenance and Repairs + Monitoring and Reporting + Inventory Asset Management + Emergency Response + Lab Cleanliness and Safety + Basic Testbed Support **These will help you stand out** + Experience in labelling inventory tracking for components and devices inside Datacenter. + Intra and Inter lab equipment and rack moves. The annual salary for this position is between $50,000 to $60,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
